City Reduces Millage for Residents

September 15, 2023, St. Augustine Beach, Fl. - At a special meeting on September 11, 2023, the City Commission reviewed the proposed Fiscal Year 2024 budget and the property tax millage to fund the budget.

The commission has decided to lower the overall millage for the city from 2.95 mills to 2.80 mills for Fiscal Year 2024. This includes 2.50 mills (or $2.50 for every $1,000 of a property’s assessed value) for the operating budget and 0.300 mills (or $0.30 for every $1,000 of a property’s assessed value) for the debt millage. This is a total decrease of 0.15 mills levied for Fiscal Year 2023.

Vice Mayor, Dylan Rumrell stated “In this current economic situation I think it's amazing that staff and the commission agreed to lower the millage for our residents here in Saint Augustine Beach. It shows a true testament that we are really working to secure and use every bit of our taxpayer dollars in the appropriate way.”
